Safe City project. Fines for individuals and legal entities equated
Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev held a meeting on implementation of Safe City project. Information Support Department of the Government’s Executive Office reported.
According to the deputy head of the Main Traffic Safety Department, Ymanaly Sarkulov, over 19,000 traffic violations were recorded in Bishkek and Chui region from February 12 to March 3.
Amendments to the Violations Code entered into force on March 4, according to which fines for individuals and legal entities for traffic violations were equated. There is also a provision for granting the discount in the amount of 50 percent of a fine to drivers, who pay it within 15 days.
The Prime Minister noted that the situation on the roads has improved since the launch of the project.
«The state authorities need to listen to the opinion of road users and direct efforts on improvement of the situation on the roads. This work is important if we take into account the plans for implementation of the next stages of the project,» Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev told.
