Bank accounts of QIWI payment operator blocked
Settlement accounts of QIWI payment system operator are blocked. The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
Decision to block the settlement accounts of QIWI payment system operator (Unified Instant Payment System LLC) in commercial banks was made by a court on the basis of a statement by one of the owners of the company. In this case, the National Bank notes that the measures were taken not at its suggestion.
«In accordance with the law on the National Bank, banks and banking activities, the financial regulator does not have the authority to suspend operations and freeze the current accounts of business entities. These functions are within the competence of law enforcement and judicial authorities,» the National Bank stressed.
