Avalanche-prone areas not taken into account in North-South road project
Avalanche-prone areas were not taken into account in development of a project for the construction of an alternative North-South road. Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Berdaliev told today at a press conference.
According to him, a shortage of funds appeared due to the need for additional work. It is planned to carry out the work at the expense of $ 56 million grant from Exim Bank of China.
«There is a backlog from the road construction schedule. It arose during the construction of a tunnel. It turned out that the soil there was softer than we originally expected. We are working on this issue now,» Bakyt Berdaliev told.
