Kyrgyzstan intends to expand list of its intangible heritage
Four traditional games are planned to be included in the list of elements of intangible cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan. The Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the republic submitted the draft government decree for public discussion.
So, it is proposed to add arkan tartysh (tug-of-war), alty bakan selkinchek (song contest between a girl and a young man standing on a swing), zhooluktashtamai (throwing of a scarf up) and toguz-korgool (national logic game).
In addition, the Ministry of Culture proposes to supplement the Law on Intangible Cultural Heritage with the terms «traditional games» (instead of «folk games and entertainment») and «national sport.»
