Officials repeatedly call car owners guilty of smog in Bishkek
Owners of vehicles are to blame for smog over Bishkek. Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of Kyrgyzstan Abdykalyk Rustamov told today at a press conference.
According to him, vehicles pollute the air 252 days a year.
«If you look at the measurements of the Hydrometeorological Service, you can find out that there is nitrogen dioxide in the air. It is exactly in the fuel. There is a grain of truth that inner suburbs are also to blame for smog. When cold weather comes, people heat their houses with coal,» Abdykalyk Rustamov said.
The head of the state agency expressed doubt that residents of private houses heat their houses with garbage.
