Film about Interhelpo movement shot in Bishkek
A film about Interhelpo movement and its leader, Alexander Dubcheko, is shot in Bishkek. Press service of the Bishkek City Administration reported.
The shooting takes place in the city cultural center Dialogue, which is a historical and cultural monument. «A film crew from Slovakia met with the descendants of members of the movement, who shared their memories of the industrial cooperative from Czechoslovakia,» the city administration noted.
Interhelpo was created by communist workers from Zilina city in 1923. In April 1924, the first echelon arrived in Kyrgyzstan — 14 wagons with equipment and 13 wagons with members of the Czech cooperative and their families. In 1925, Interhelpo was recognized as the best cooperative of the Soviet Union.
«The movement made a significant contribution to the development of industry, the cooperative movement of the young Soviet republic,» the city administration stressed.
