Omurbek Tekebayev may be transferred to penal settlement in February 2020
Convicted ex-MP Omurbek Tekebayev may be transferred to a penal settlement. The First Deputy Chairman of the State Penitentiary Service, Zhorobek Duishembiev, told at a press conference.
According to him, the date for submitting recommendation for transfer of the former member of parliament to a penal settlement is February 10, 2020.
«The documents are being prepared by the administration of the prison,» Zhorobek Duishembiev said.
He noted that Omurbek Tekebayev may draw up a contract, according to which he will be at large, but visit the prison settlement once a week.
Omurbek Tekebayev and Duishenkul Chotonov received eight years in prison with confiscation of property. The courts of all instances found them guilty of corruption.
