Aida Kasymalieva elected Vice Speaker of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan
Aida Kasymalieva was elected a Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan. Her candidacy was nominated by SDPK faction instead of Asel Koduranova.
At least 91 deputies voted for Aida Kasymalieva, 16 were against.
Recall, Vice Speaker of Parliament Asel Koduranova on December 12, presiding at the meeting of the Parliament, included in the agenda the issue of political persecution of the ex-politician Omurbek Babanov. SDPK faction regarded the decision to put this issue up for discussion as a demarche and removed Asel Koduranova from the post of Vice Speaker.
