Kyrgyzstan not to allow anyone to control its customs border
«Each country of the Eurasian Economic Union is sovereign, and no one will allow anyone to control its customs border. This is unacceptable,» the Economy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov commented to 24.kg news agency on Transparency Kazakhstan’s proposal for joint control at the customs border.
According to him, there is an agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which clearly regulates the interaction between various structures, including customs authorities.
«There is a joint customs board. There is an interaction of customs services, the exchange of information at this site. That is quite enough,» Oleg Pankratov said.
Transparency Kazakhstan Public Foundation proposed to introduce joint customs control of EEU states at customs posts in Kyrgyzstan. The organization explained the idea by a large flow of smuggled goods from China and Turkey.
