Ministry of Health warns. Scary pictures to appear on bottles of alcohol
Deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan propose to place on the bottles with alcohol a label with a medical warning about the dangers of alcohol сconsumption. The document was submitted for public discussion.
The requirement is proposed to be introduced for alcoholic products, having a volume fraction of ethyl alcohol more than 28 percent. A medical warning about the dangers of alcohol use must occupy at least 40 percent of the main label area against the background of drawings or pictograms, the content of which is determined by the Government of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Ministry of Health, 9,000 people are hospitalized to the narcological service with alcohol intoxication annually. The main part of patients with alcohol addiction live in the northern region of the republic and Bishkek — more than 60 percent.
