Osh city to become cultural capital of Turkic world in 2019
Osh city will become the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2019. The decision was unanimously adopted at the 36th meeting of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY countries. Press service of the City Administration of the southern capital reported.
Osh will host a series of joint international TURKSOY events.
TURKSOY previously announced 2014 as the Year of Toktogul Satylganov, 2016 — the Year of Zhusup Balasagyn, and 2018 — the Year of Chingiz Aitmatov.
Kyrgyz city is for the first time announced the cultural capital of the Turkic world. Previously, they were the cities of Kastamonu (Turkey), Turkestan (Kazakhstan), Mary (Turkmenistan), Sheki (Azerbaijan), Kazan (Tatarstan) and others.
