President about relations with Europe, USA: Kyrgyzstan’s interests is priority
Kyrgyzstan renews relations with the United States of America. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov told at a press conference.
He recalled that a cooperation agreement with the United States was unilaterally denounced under the previous government.
«We are now cooperating and working in this direction. Our relationship will be renewed. Naturally, we will cooperate only in the interests of the republic,» said Sooronbai Jeenbekov.
He also noted that Kyrgyzstan also began close cooperation with the European Union.
The denunciation of the agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and the United States on cooperation took place at the initiative of the former head of state Almazbek Atambayev in 2015. The document provided for humanitarian, as well as economic and technical assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic by the USA. All deliveries provided by U.S. assistance programs were not subject to taxes and customs duties, and the civilian and military personnel of the U.S. government working in the country had equal diplomatic status.
