Earliest stories by Chingiz Aitmatov first published in Kyrgyz
Turar publishing house has published a book of Chingiz Aitmatov’s early works in the Kyrgyz language. Chief Editor of the electronic library New Literature of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Bondarenko told.
The collection includes the first stories by the writer Newsman Dzyuio, Ashym, We Go Further, Sypaichi and On the Bogara.
«These stories were written by Chingiz Aitmatov in the early 1950s and published in local newspapers and magazines. More than 65 years have passed, but these stories have not yet been republished for various reasons, not to mention their translation into Kyrgyz,» Oleg Bondarenko said.
The translation was made by translator Myrzayan Tolomushev, literary scholar Sadyk Alakhan prepared the book for publication.
Today, on December 12, Chingiz Aitmatov, the national writer of Kyrgyzstan, would have turned 90.
