Military helicopter crashes in Afghanistan, 25 people killed
At least 26 people were killed in a crash of a military helicopter in Farah province in western Afghanistan this morning. Associated Press reported.
The helicopter was reportedly carrying senior officials and local deputies, including the head of Farah provincial council.
According to the authorities, the helicopter crashed in bad weather conditions shortly after taking off from the mountainous Anar Dara district.
At the same time, Afghan media reported that the Taliban militants claimed responsibility for the accident, saying they had shot down the aircraft.
