Kyrgyzstan, Slovakia sign memorandum of cooperation in education

During her visit to Slovakia, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva met with Slovak Minister of Education, Research, Development and Youth Tomas Drucker.

According to the Kyrgyz Education Ministry, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest. Particular attention was paid to Kyrgyzstan’s ongoing transition to a 12-year school education system.

 The sides also discussed the use of artificial intelligence in education, ensuring equal access to quality STEM education, and the development of technical and vocational education.

They emphasized the importance of training qualified specialists based on labor market needs. About 4,000 Kyrgyz citizens currently work in Slovakia.

Given Slovakia’s developed industrial sector, including its automotive industry and the presence of major international companies, the sides highlighted the potential for exchanging experience in vocational and technical education.

Following the meeting, Kyrgyzstan’s Education Ministry and Slovakia’s Education Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in education.
