Construction of Balykchy-Barskoon-Bokonbayevo road is behind schedule. First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Talantbek Soltobayev announced at a board meeting on the results of work for the first nine months of 2024.
According to him, in 2022, in order to support domestic companies, two of them were allocated a 70-kilometer section each. The contractors offered to build the highway at a price of 798,000 per kilometer. But there was no finished project, the calculations were preliminary.
The official added that the construction is behind schedule due to the announced cost of the project, which does not correspond to reality. The companies are behind schedule due to a lack of funding. If the situation does not change, the Ministry of Transport promises to take action.
