The next meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz working group to discuss problems related to migrants was held in Moscow. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The 17th meeting of the joint Kyrgyz-Russian working group was held in Moscow to discuss problematic issues arising in the implementation of the agreement between the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the government of the Russian Federation on labor activity and social protection of migrant workers.

The parties discussed the migration situation in Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and also exchanged «up-to-date information on changes in the migration legislation of countries in the field of labor migration.»

«The main issues on the agenda of the meeting were the liberalization of measures on closure of entry into the territory of Russia for committing minor administrative offenses, the admission of children of working citizens of Kyrgyzstan to educational institutions of Russia, ensuring access to the compulsory medical insurance system, difficulties in passing fingerprint registration in Russia, as well as the opening of a pre-immigration training center in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic,» the ministry notes.

The Russian Federation has recently tightened the laws in relation to migrants. For example, the State Duma approved three out of five bills concerning Russian migration policy.

Earlier, MP Mederbek Aliev addressed his colleagues from the State Duma of the Russian Federation, who are adopting laws on tightening migration policy. According to the MP, migrants from Russia have been approaching him with concern for this reason.
