At least 2-3 HPPs will be launched in Kyrgyzstan annually — Economy Ministry
It is planned to commission 2-3 new hydropower plants (HPPs) annually in the next five years in Kyrgyzstan. The head of the green economy and tourism sector of the Ministry of Economy, Alibek Matiev, reported.
«Over the past 30 years, capsules have been laid and 3-4 HPPs have been launched. In the next five years, we plan to commission at least 15 HPPs. 2-3 new facilities will be launched every year,» he said.
Alibek Matiev also noted that the construction of Orto-Tokoi HPP is currently in full swing. In addition, solar and wind energy projects are actively developing in the country. Solar panels are already being installed in Talas, Batken and Naryn regions, and wind projects are planned to be implemented in Issyk-Kul region.
