Police have right to fine for noise - Parliament of Kyrgyzstan adopts law
The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan adopted a law on noise in the third reading. Police will have the right to fine for noise that exceeds the permissible level.
Under the current law, the Health Promotion Department of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance is supposed to impose fines. However, its employees work only during the day and they have no noise measuring devices. Therefore, it is impossible to bring violators to justice.
After the adopted law comes into force, district police departments will have to buy noise and sound pressure measuring devices.
According to Article 82 of the Code of Offenses, violation of the noise rules in settlements or public places is punishable by a fine of 10,000 soms for individuals and 28,000 soms for legal entities.
