Residents of Nookat district try to sell more than 6 kilograms of mercury
Employees of the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan detained two citizens, who tried to sell mercury. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to it, information was received that an unknown citizen intended to sell a batch of mercury in the south of the republic.
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was initiated under Article 292 «Illegal circulation of potent or toxic substances for the purpose of sale» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the inspection, a plastic container with mercury weighing 6,200 grams was found in the car.
A passenger in the car, local resident, 41, was also detained. The potent toxic substance belonged to him. The examination showed that the seized substance was metallic mercury. Both suspects were placed in a temporary detention facility. An investigation is underway.
