Ministry intends to oblige citizens to register SIM cards at time of purchase
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan is negotiating with the Ministry of Digital Development over the registration of SIM cards not within a week, but at the time of purchase. Deputy Minister Nurbek Aliev announced at a meeting of the Parliament.
According to him, telephone scammers take advantage of the opportunity to register SIM cards within a week after purchase. Crimes are committed using new, unregistered SIM cards.
It should be noted that SIM cards purchased at official points of sale of mobile operators in Kyrgyzstan are registered at the time of purchase.
