Six people collecting herbs go missing in Chatkal
Six people, who went to the mountains to collect herbs, have gone missing in Chatkal. The Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Jalal-Abad region reported.
Fourteen people went to the mountains on October 9. The group went to a remote area, then communication with them was lost. Relatives of the villagers turned to rescuers for help. It is noted that eight people were found, and six more are still missing.
According to local residents, an avalanche descended in Ak-Sai mountain area on October 14. It probably covered the people.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
