EBRD to provide loan and grant for water supply and treatment facilities
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide 17 million for the project «Rehabilitation of water supply systems in the cities of Shopokov, Kemin, Talas (phase II)». The Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved the receipt of funds.
According to the Director of the Water Resources Service Almazbek Sokeev, €7.6 million of these funds will be provided as a loan for 15 years with a four-year grace period. The loan rate is 1 percent plus the Euribor rate. €9.4 million will be received as a grant.
