Tulpar: About 400,000 trips are paid for in cashless form daily in Bishkek
A record growth in the popularity of cashless payments is registered in Bishkek in 2024. The operational director of Tulpar project, Bekzhan Akmatbekov, reported.
Over the first nine months of 2024, the total number of trips paid for in cashless form in public transport reached 72 million, which is three times higher than in 2023, he told.
«This became possible thanks to the renewal of the public transport fleet and the rapid growth in the popularity of QR payments. September was a record month, when more than 11 million trips were paid for through cashless systems — this is evidence of the growing trust in such payments and convenience for passengers. The promotion of cashless payments significantly improves the quality of service and speeds up the payment process,» Bekzhan Akmatbekov posted on Facebook.
The average monthly number of cashless trips in 2024 reached 8 million, with an average of 400,000 trips paid for in cashless form per day.
For comparison, in 2022, it was 7 million trips; in 2023 — 24 million.
