Kyrgyzstan's state debt makes up 43.7 percent of GDP - Finance Ministry
The total amount of public debt makes up 43.7 percent of GDP to date. Deputy Finance Minister Umutzhan Amanbaev announced at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the amount of public debt reached 45.5 percent of GDP in 2023.
The gross domestic product in 2023, according to the Finance Ministry’s report, was 1,228,898,800 trillion soms.
The Deputy Minister added that, according to the Finance Ministry’s forecasts, by 2028-2029, the amount of public debt will decrease to 26 percent of GDP. Umutzhan Amanbaev explained that now is the peak of payments of principal amounts on public debt.
