Health Ministry investigates death of woman in labor in Sokuluk
The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan is conducting a preliminary internal investigation into the death of a woman in labor in the Sokuluk maternity hospital. The chief specialist of the Ministry of Health, Raisa Asylbasheva, told 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the 24-year-old woman died on September 7. This was her second child birth after a cesarean section.
«The child was born full-term, but in serious condition, transferred to the National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare in the neonatal pathology department. We cannot yet judge the actions of the doctors, a forensic medical examination is currently being conducted, but we have already begun analyzing the medical documents. Explanatory notes have been collected. A legal assessment of actions of medical workers will be given later,» Raisa Asylbasheva said.
