World Bank in Kyrgyzstan to be granted immunity from legal proceedings
The World Bank Group organizations will be granted immunity from legal proceedings. The corresponding draft law on ratification of the agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the WB Group was approved by the Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, the agreement provides for tax exemption for the World Bank Group organizations. These are the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/International Development Association, the International Finance Corporation and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.
The background statement to the draft law also states that Kyrgyzstan undertakes to grant entry permits to family members of the World Bank Group employees.
