Chief physician of Epidemiological Department extorts money from cafe tenant
Employees of the Service for Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration of Chui region detained the chief physician of Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Department of Issyk-Ata district on suspicion of extortion. The department reported.
On September 5, 2024, the tenant of the cafe contacted the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Chui region with a statement that an official, abusing his position, demanded a monthly payment of 10,000 soms, threatening with inspection of the establishment.
The driver and the chief physician were detained while taking money on September 6. The latter was placed in a temporary detention facility. A criminal case was opened under Article 343 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The investigation continues.
