Olympics 2024: Kyrgyzstan’s team was not tested for coronavirus
The team of Kyrgyzstan that participated in the Olympics in Paris was not tested for coronavirus. The head of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kyrgyzstan Kylych Sarbagishev told 24.kg news agency.
He noted that all the athletes were healthy before leaving for the 2024 Olympics.
«After the athletes returned, we did not take a test for coronavirus. We did not have such a need. The athletes are now on vacation. We need to call each of them to ask about their condition. Why was it necessary to test them? The Kazakhs detected it, because someone among them became seriously ill, as I understand it. People are not tested for coronavirus anywhere now. The Kazakh team probably had a need,» Kylych Sarbagishev said.
Earlier, the spokesman for the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Berik Uali, told local media that the meeting of the head of state with the medalists was postponed due to the fact that several athletes have tested positive for coronavirus.
