More than 1.2 billion soms of excise tax on soft drinks collected in Kyrgyzstan
The Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan collected 1,201.7 billion soms of excise tax on soft drinks in the first seven months of 2024. The press service of the Tax Service reported.
According to its data, 566.3 million soms of excise tax came from production on the territory of the country, 635.3 million soms of excise tax — from imports from the EAEU countries.
Compared to January-July 2023, excise tax collection on soft drinks increased by more than 775 million soms.
The main factor of this growth was the introduction this year of mandatory labeling of water with excise stamps, including mineral and sparkling water containing added sugar or other sweetening or flavoring substances.
- The production and import of these products in the Kyrgyz Republic are subject to excise tax from July 1, 2022.
