National Bank of Kyrgyzstan conducts intervention of $59.8 million
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan entered the currency market with an intervention, having sold $59.8 million. At least $18.5 million of this amount was sold with settlements on the date of the transaction, and $41.3 million — with settlements different from the date of the transaction. Information about the transaction is posted on the official website of the central bank.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the bank has conducted five interventions to sell dollars. During this period, it sold $149.95 million, of which $111.45 million — in August.
This year, the National Bank has bought more dollars than it sold. From the end of March to the beginning of August, it conducted 12 so-called reverse interventions and bought $347.35 million on the currency market.
The official exchange rate of the American currency rose slightly the day before. On August 14, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic set the rate of $1 at 85.6727 soms (+0.32 percent).
