Rains expected, mudflows possible in Kyrgyzstan on July 13-17
Unstable weather is expected in Kyrgyzstan from July 13 to July 17. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to it, local heavy rains are expected. Mudflows are possible in mountainous and foothill areas, and water levels in rivers may rise.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges to follow safety rules in the event of a flood threat:
- Clean ditches, strengthen banks and do not throw garbage into ditches;
- Ensure the presence of a gutter at the residential buildings to drain rainwater;
- When building houses and growing crops, pay special attention to avoiding areas at risk of flooding;
- During a flood, immediately go to a safe place;
- If possible, turn off the lights, water, and gas in the house.
