Rector of Physical Culture Academy detained for extortion in Bishkek
The rector of the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports was detained. The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS) reported.
According to it, the fact of extortion of 100,000 soms by the rector of the academy was revealed.
It was established that he demanded money for the extension of the agreement on leasing state property (premises) located in the building of the higher education institution.
Based on the results of investigative and operational activities within the framework of an initiated criminal case, the rector, as well as teachers of the academy, who acted as intermediaries in the transfer of money, were caught red-handed while taking $1,000.
The investigation continues.
