Head of Kyrgyzstan’s Border Service to head SCO Anti-Terrorist Structure
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) supported the candidacy of the head of the Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ularbek Sharsheyev, for the post of Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure. President Sadyr Japarov announced on July 4 at a meeting of the SCO summit in Astana.
Sadyr Japarov thanked all participants [heads of SCO member states] for supporting the candidacy of Ularbek Sharsheyev.
The Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure is a permanent body of the SCO that coordinates the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism at the regional and global levels. The structure is currently headed by Ruslan Mirzaev.
Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State was held in Astana, which was attended by President Sadyr Japarov.
