Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan arrived in Osh region on June 30 to evacuate citizens of the country and transport the bodies of the killed to their homeland. The ministry reports.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rescuers, doctors from the Center for Disaster Medicine and psychologists have arrived.

«The plane delivered humanitarian aid in the form of food products with a total weight of 2.7 tons for the residents of Kyrgyzstan affected by mudflows. The head of the Emergency Situations Department of Zhambyl region, Arman Tokanov, was sent to the emergency situation zone — Nookat district of Osh region — to coordinate search and rescue operations. Earlier, an operational headquarters was created in the situation center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, whose specialists are in constant contact with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and our embassy,» the statement says.

The operational headquarters has been operating in Ust-Kamenogorsk for the second day, on the basis of which the relatives of the killed children are being provided with psychological assistance.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that two Kazakh children died during the mudflow in the Kyrgyz Republic, and two more are missing. Diplomats are in constant contact with local authorities. The Embassy in Kyrgyzstan provides all necessary assistance to the relatives of the deceased children. The tragedy is under the special control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Mudflows occurred in Nookat district of Osh region on June 28, leading to the death of people. Due to heavy rains, mudflows flooded dozens of courtyards and damaged bridges, roads and power lines. An emergency situation has been declared in the district.
