Uzgen bypass road - good example of PPP in Kyrgyzstan
«Implementation of the project on construction of a bypass road in Uzgen will be a good example of the application of the public-private partnership mechanism in Kyrgyzstan,» Denis Ilin, Senior Managing Director of the Eurasian Development Bank, said during the Business Forum.
According to him, the instrument of public-private partnership is now rarely used in the countries of Central Asia. And it is the project on the construction of the bypass road in Uzgen that can become a good example for the further use of the PPP mechanism not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in Tajikistan and Armenia.
«PPP is one of the main tools that allows our participating countries to implement large investment projects without major budgetary injections or budgetary obligations with the mandatory attraction of a private investor to their region,» Denis Ilin concluded.
Construction of the new bypass road in Uzgen with a length of 14 kilometers has already begun. It is expected that the road will reduce traffic intensity, traffic jams and improve road safety.
