The meeting of the 10th Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan and celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly took place at Ala-Archa state residence on June 24. The press service of the head of state reported.

Sadyr Japarov sent an address to the delegates and congratulated them on their anniversary. The address of the head of state was read by Secretary of State Suyunbek Kasmambetov.

He noted that today more than a hundred different ethnic groups make up the people of the country and together they rejoice at the successes of Kyrgyzstan, overcoming the difficulties of transition periods, living in peace, friendship and unity, hand in hand on the sacred land of Ala-Too.

Sadyr Japarov also emphasized that the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan was organized at the first kurultai of the people of Kyrgyzstan in 1994 and since then has contributed to strengthening the unity of the people, the development of interethnic relations and the formation of civil equality.

«Since taking office as president, I have issued decrees aimed at strengthening state policy in the field of interethnic relations. Considering the role of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan in ensuring unity and social integration, I signed the Decree «On enhancing the status and role of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan», giving it the status of a consultative and advisory body under the President,» the head of state said in his address.

The President recalled that the concept for the development of civic identity Kyrgyz Zharany for 2021-2026 was approved. The activities of the Assembly are supported at the state level. Conditions have been created for the preservation and development of native languages, culture and traditions of ethnic communities living in Kyrgyzstan.

«At the same time, the Russian language continues to play an important role as an official language. As they say: ««How many languages you know — so many times you are a human».» Through language we not only speak, but also enrich ourselves spiritually and culturally. It is necessary to promote the formation of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan who is fluent in the state, native, official and foreign languages, and to develop multilingual education, which is a requirement of our time,» the address states.

Sadyr Japarov paid attention to the need to improve the status of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, given its role in strengthening the unity of the people and interethnic relations.
