Number of aiyl aimaks in Issyk-Kul region to be reduced almost threefold
Only 22 out of 61 aiyl aimaks will remain in Issyk-Kul region due to the merger after the administrative-territorial reform. The First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev said at a meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues and Regulations of the Parliament.
According to him, the territories of Karakol, Cholpon-Ata and Balykchy will be increased by adding one adjacent aiyl aimak to them.
