Mudflows possible in Kyrgyzstan due to expected rains
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan issued a weather alert.
Unstable weather is expected in the republic on May 30. Local heavy rains may cause mudflows in mountainous and foothill areas of Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions.
The water level in rivers is expected to rise.
«Rain and thunderstorms are expected in most regions of the country on May 30, snow — in the mountainous areas. The roads will be slippery. The speed of the western wind may reach 4-9 meters per second, and in some places — up to 15-20 meters per second,» the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
