Israel confiscates equipment of American news agency
Israeli authorities on May 21 confiscated the equipment, with the help of which the American news agency Associated Press (AP) conducted live video broadcasts from the Gaza Strip for its subscribers around the world. BBC reported.
Israel accused AP of violating a ban on signal transmission to the Qatari satellite TV channel Al-Jazeera, which is banned in the country.
Authorities seized a camera and broadcasting equipment in Sderot city, the news agency said.
Reporters Without Borders condemned Israel’s decision and called it a manifestation of censorship.
