More than 246,000 Kyrgyzstanis receive pension savings totaling 7 billion soms
As of September 1, 2026, a total of 246,866 people in Kyrgyzstan had received pension savings, with total payments amounting to 7,208.5 billion soms, the Social Fund reported.
Most of the funds were paid to people who had reached retirement age. A total of 213,979 people received 3,568 billion soms in pension savings.
At least 13,241 heirs of deceased citizens received pension savings totaling 433.7 million soms. In cases of permanent relocation abroad, payments were made to 4,713 people, totaling 272.1 million soms.
Pension savings are also used to address housing needs.
Payments to people who had received mortgage loans amounted to 2,320.1 billion soms, benefiting 10,348 people. Another 397 citizens who are receiving mortgage loans were paid 92.1 million soms.
Under housing programs, 887 people received 141.9 million soms to cover rental payments with a subsequent purchase option. Payments to participants in shared-equity construction projects amounted to another 188.6 million soms.
In addition, pension savings are available to military personnel, officially recognized unemployed people and citizens requiring treatment for serious illnesses.
Military personnel received 13.7 million soms, officially recognized unemployed people received 8.3 million soms, while 170 million soms was allocated for the treatment of serious illnesses.
Thus, pension savings in Kyrgyzstan can be received not only after reaching retirement age, but also used to address housing needs, cover treatment for serious illnesses and in cases of permanent relocation abroad. In the event of the death of an insured person, the savings can be received by their heirs.
