Kyrgyzstan plans to establish international logistics center Sary-Tash

The National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Textile Trans LLC signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation on September 10 to establish the Sary-Tash international transport and logistics center.

The project is expected to attract up to $100 million in investment. The center will be established as part of China—Kyrgyzstan—Uzbekistan—Afghanistan international transport corridor, with the possibility of extending the route to Pakistan in the future.

The project includes the development of modern infrastructure for cargo storage, assembly and transshipment, weighing, customs and brokerage services, as well as digital monitoring.

«This is not simply about creating a new logistics facility for Kyrgyzstan. We see a major opportunity to strengthen the country’s role as an important transport and trade hub between China, Central Asia and South Asia. The Sary-Tash project is expected to contribute to the development of transit, trade and production, as well as create new jobs,» National Investment Agency head Ravshanbek Sabirov said.

The memorandum provides for long-term cooperation between the parties in preparing and implementing the project in transport and customs logistics and developing a textile cluster.

The project is aimed at increasing Kyrgyzstan’s transit potential and creating new opportunities for business and international trade.
