Vendors from the old Osh market will soon be relocated to a new commercial complex, Kanybek Tumanbaev, head of the Presidential Affairs Department, announced during a site inspection.

According to Tumanbaev, construction of the new market is approximately 90 percent complete. All trading stalls must be fully prepared and meet required standards before the relocation process begins.

He instructed officials to test engineering systems and ensure the complex is fully ready for winter.

 «Quality is the top priority. Winter is approaching, so it should be warm inside. All utility systems, gas supply, and landscaping must be thoroughly checked. As a state-owned facility, every detail must be planned carefully. All processes should be digitized to eliminate the human factor. Every numbered stall will be entered into a centralized database, and vendors will pay rent through Tunduk app,» Tumanbaev stated during the inspection.

Spanning 155,000 square meters, the new market complex features nine two- to four-story buildings housing retail stalls, warehouses, cold storage facilities, gyms, a mosque, and medical aid posts.

Construction of the new complex began in September 2024. Once the relocation is complete, the old Osh market will be closed and replaced with a modern public park and green space.
