Kyrgyzstan imposes temporary ban on export of mineral fertilizers outside EAEU
Kyrgyzstan has imposed a temporary ban on the export of mineral fertilizers outside the EAEU. The corresponding decree was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev.
According to the document, the ban was introduced from March 3, 2025 for a period of six months and applies to all types of mineral fertilizers, with the exception of international transit and humanitarian aid provided by decision of the government.
At the same time, if the quality of fertilizers does not meet the established requirements, they can be re-exported without restrictions.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic is obliged to notify the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) of the introduction of the temporary ban within three days from the date of entry into force of the decree. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to notify the CIS Executive Committee.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that Kyrgyzstan does not have its own production of mineral fertilizers; annual supply is only 45-55 percent of the total need.
