Outflow of remittances from Kyrgyzstan decreased in 2024
According to the results of 2024, the gross inflow of cross-border remittances of individuals made through money transfer systems, bank mobile applications and electronic wallets amounted to $2.99 billion. This is 10.5 percent more than in 2023. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan published such data.
Main sources of remittances
Most of the receipts traditionally came from Russia — 93.1 percent of the total, or $2.78 billion. Significant amount of remittances also came from:
- USA — $62.5 million (2.1 percent),
- South Korea — $45.6 million (1.5 percent).
Outflow of remittances from Kyrgyzstan decreased
In 2024, the volume of remittances sent from Kyrgyzstan abroad amounted to $445.8 million, which is 20.6 percent less than in 2023. The main directions of the outflow are:
- Russia — $371.2 million (83.3 percent),
- Turkey — $57.5 million (12.9 percent).
Thus, net inflow of remittances to Kyrgyzstan increased by 18.6 percent and reached $2.54 billion.
