Construction of new landfill begins in Osh city
Construction of a new sanitary landfill has begun in Osh city. The press service of the City Hall reported.
Mayor Bakytbek Zhetigenov familiarized himself with the start of work on reclamation of the existing landfill of Osh-Tazalyk and the construction of a new one, carried out within the framework of «Improvement of the solid waste management system in Osh city» project.
The municipality recalled that the project is being implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the European Union.
The goal of the project is to create a systemic mechanism for managing solid household waste in the city of Osh, in particular, a comprehensive improvement of the waste management system, from collection, transportation and ending with its disposal.
