Nurlan Motuev placed under house arrest
The court placed Nurlan Motuev under house arrest. The press service of the Bishkek City Court reported.
He was detained for posting a video on social media, in which he helped people repay their debts. He is suspected of inciting racial, ethnic, national, religious or interregional hatred (discord).
The police noted that on October 16, 2024, during social media monitoring, it was revealed that Nurlan Motuev expressed himself negatively in relation to representatives of a national minority on Instagram, thus inciting interethnic hatred (discord), humiliating, as well as promoting the exclusivity, superiority or inferiority of citizens on the basis of interethnic conflict, committed publicly using the Internet.
On November 1, the Sverdlovsky District Court chose a preventive measure for Motuev in the form of house arrest until December 29, 2024.
