Kazakhstan introduces Neo Nomad visa for foreigners working remotely
Kazakhstan has introduced a Neo Nomad visa for modern nomads. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
This visa is intended for the so-called modern nomads — foreign touristsб who combine work and leisure, traveling and working remotely. The new visa regime takes into account the international experience of more than 50 countries that have successfully implemented similar programs after the pandemic, the Ministry of Tourism noted.
Foreign citizens, who have the Neo Nomad visa, can stay in Kazakhstan for up to one year while maintaining employment at foreign companies.
To obtain the visa, it is necessary to provide proof of income of at least $3,000 per month outside of Kazakhstan. In addition, it will be necessary to have medical insurance and a certificate of absence of a criminal record.
According to calculations by the Kazakhstan’s authorities, such a measure will attract about 3.6 billion tenge (about $7.4 million) per year, if 500 people receive the visa.
