Former aide to MP Erulan Kokulov detained for calls to overthrow government
Aitilek Orozbekov, former assistant of the deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Erulan Kokulov, was detained for calls to overthrow the government. His friend reported on condition of anonymity.
It is known that he was detained for his social media posts.
Aitilek Orozbekov was detained November 1 by officers of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). He is charged under the article «Public calls for violent seizure of power».
On November 2, the court chose a measure of restraint for the suspect in the form of arrest. He was placed in a pre-trial detention center until January 1, 2025.
«He was arrested for videos posted on the channel «Vremya pokazhet» (Time will show) on TikTok. There are no videos on this channel now. He was officially informed that he was detained for these videos and for being a member of Butun Kyrgyzstan party. He wrote me so before his lawyer came. He used to teach at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Anadolu college, but he recently quit and was looking for a job,» the friend of the detainee said.
The SCNS press center has not yet commented on the detention.
Previously, Aitilek Orozbekov was a volunteer assistant to MP Erulan Kokulov and later joined Butun Kyrgyzstan party.
