Volume of freight transportation in Kyrgyzstan increased in 2024
The volume of freight transportation in Kyrgyzstan has increased since the beginning of 2024. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.
The volume of cargoes transported by all types of transport in January — September amounted to 38,124 million tons. Compared to the same period last year, this figure increased by 2.3 million tons, or 7.4 percent.
In September, compared to the same period of 2023, cargo transportation increased by 1.3 percent. Compared to August, their volume increased by 18 percent.
Out of the total volume of freight transportation:
- 31.489 million tons were transported by road;
- By rail — 6.344 million tons;
- By pipelines — 269,300 tons;
- By air transport — 20,900 tons.
According to the National Statistical Committee, the volume of cargo turnover by all types of transport in the Kyrgyz Republic for the reporting period amounted to 2.174 billion ton-kilometers. This is 6.2 percent more, compared to January-September last year.
